New Website
The Problem
The website's design struggled to reflect the content's clear, concise investment information. Lyn Alden Investment Strategy is a best in class investment strategy and education resource. The existing website struggles to center the content and make its many resources easily available to visitors. The site’s mobile version makes it difficult for readers to access information.
Head to Toe Reshaping
A head to toe reshaping that displays best in class content. The redesign leverages existing content by creating easy to access topical areas. With close to 500,000 followers on Twitter, the design leverages Lyn’s following with a live Twitter section. On mobile, the subscription option remains with the user along their journey on the site.
The Home Page
The Home Page design is a crucial part of the project, as most interview participants expressed confusion when exploring the existing layout. The top banner preserves its position as the user scrolls, allowing for greater functionality. The streamlined navigational layout makes the site’s content more prominent and accessible.
Navigation Drawer
A navigation drawer on the Home Page collects all the tabs and information a user may need into a tidy box accessed by the Menu button.
Interactive Learning
The article page contains underlined key technical phrases over which the user can hover to learn more. In this example, a map of the ‘Euro Area’ shows countries in the European Union on the hover.
Checkout Flow
A revamped checkout flow allows the user to create an account and decide which type of subscription is right for them along their investing journey.
Results
The redesign provided a blueprint to move forward with implementation of a user friendly website. According to users engaged during the testing phase, "the new site is exactly what I would expect from a news or quality blog—it is professional."
